The following awardees received funding to create a collaborative network of organizations working together to address the shortage of physics teachers in their local communities :
- New York City Physics Outreach Command Center, composed of Adelphi University, Mineola High School, and Manhasset High School
- Northeast Florida STEM-Physics Network, composed of University of North Florida, Duval County Public Schools, and Florida State College at Jacksonville
These awardees will receive approximately $100,000 in funding along with ongoing support from PhysTEC staff over a two-year period. These networks will build capacity to advance physics teacher education, through activities such as developing new teacher certification pathways, providing support and mentorship for pre-service and in-service physics teachers, and establishing conferences to bring together local students and teachers to build community.
