PhysTEC Member Institutions are eligible to apply for PhysTEC’s awards. These recognize highly successful physics teacher preparation programs and highly qualified physics teachers that bolster physics education nationwide.
The 5+ Club - Solving the Physics Teacher Shortage
The 5+ Club offers national recognition to PhysTEC member institutions that graduate five or more physics teachers in a single year. Induction marks a significant contribution towards resolving the severe national shortage of physics teachers and indicates that the institution is a national leader in the production of teachers.
If you are interested in applying, the application cycle will begin in early Fall of 2021. Check back here for future deadlines.

Teacher of the Year Award - Recognize Outstanding Physics Teachers
The PhysTEC Teacher of the Year program recognizes outstanding physics teachers and illustrates the impact and value of physics teacher preparation programs that are members of PhysTEC. Your member institution may submit one nominee to be recognized by PhysTEC as a Local Teacher of the Year, and this nominee may apply for the recognition of National Teacher of the Year. In addition to these honors for your deserving graduates, your program will be recognized for producing excellent physics teachers.
