As of 2023, PhysTEC has awarded funding to 60 institutions to support physics teacher education programs towards becoming thriving programs that graduate five or more physics teachers per year. PhysTEC's recent funding cycles included a cohort of five Comprehensive Sites that each received $300,000 over three years, as well as a cohort of four Recruiting Sites that each received up to $25,000 over two years. PhysTEC provided these sites with professional development and opportunities to network with other physics teacher preparation programs across the US.
